If you would like to see the variety of trees planted, see this spreadsheet
The trees continue to grow and the blossom in spring was a delight. A mass of pink and white flowers graced the boughs for weeks as the flowering times of each tree differed and overlapped. Fruit has grown and, as predicted, is being eaten by both people and the watching wildlife.
Harvest 2017 has included plums and mulberries again. The apples are bending the boughs so do try some when you are passing. They seem to be early this year, and the local dogs are happily eating windfalls. I'm not so sure that their owners are as happy about this :) so do help yourselves to some fruit.
The area of the playing field before our work
Behind the Village Hall, beside the close mown playing field was an unloved area of bracken and rabbit holes. Since 2012 we have transforming this into a meadow planted with fruit trees, beautiful wooden benches and picnic benches.
